New Member Checklist
I acknowledge that I have either been given my GP’s permission to participate, or that I have decided to participate in activity and/or use any equipment without the approval of my doctor, and hereby agree to assume all risks of injury.
1. Please tell us your name and email address so that we know you have completed your New Member Check Sheet.
Car Registration - Please provide us with you car registration number
2. Emergency Procedures
Upon first alarm, prepare to evacuate. Upon second alarm, please evacuate to the first car parking bay on the right hand side.
3. Class Bookings
If you are attending a class you must book the class you wish to attend. Bookings can be made 8 days in advance via the Waterside App, website or at reception. If you cannot attend, please cancel your bookings so that your place can be reallocated to someone else.
4. 24 hour access
We require all members to swipe in and out at reception and no entry will be granted without a membership band or card.
To use the Waterside Leisure Club between 10pm–6:30am (Mon–Fri) and 9:30pm–8am (Sat–Sun), please adhere to the following:
- Sign in & out at reception during these hours for Health & Safety. Failure to do so may result in membership termination.
- Limited staff are on-site; exercise with extra care.
- No access to wet facilities during these hours.
- Reception staff are available for assistance (first aid only, no fitness advice).
- Report incidents or maintenance issues to reception.
- CCTV is in operation for your safety.
- Panic alarms are available in all changing rooms.
- Full Membership Package holders only. No guests, passes, or Waterside Plus cards permitted.
- Wear appropriate clothing and shoes.
- Wipe down equipment and replace weights after use to avoid penalties.
- Use of facilities is at your own risk.
5. Refer a Friend Promotion & Guest Passes
For every friend you refer you will receive either a £20 cheque, £50 in Bar & Restaurant vouchers or 3 months PLUS membership approximately 30 days after they join. It's an unlimited offer, so the more friends you refer, the more chances you have to earn! You also receive two guest passes on your account every six months; these are stored electronically.
6. Waterside App & Technogym App
To get the most out of your membership, download the Waterside App - it's the easiest way to book your classes and it has all the latest club information. As a member you also get a complimentary Technogym account which allows you to track all your exercise in and out of the gym. Download the app and register with the same email address you used to sign up to the club and this will link your account.
7. Lockers & Forgotten Band Procedure
On your first visit you will be issued a band. If you forget to bring this we can issue a temporary card to operate the lockers as long as a Forgotten Band form is completed - this must be returned at the end of your visit. Replacement bands are £5 should you require a new one.
8. Gym/Biocircuit Inductions & Find Your Fit
Programme and programme reviews are included in your membership. Find Your Fit sessions are also available which has been specifically designed with new members in mind, helping you to get to know your club and familiarise yourself with everything available to you. Book either session via the Waterside App under the Inductions section.
9. PT taster session
As part of your new membership, you are entitled to a free PT session. Please indicate using the options below if you would like a PT to contact you to arrange your session.
10. Member Discount
As a member you receive 20% discount in the Coffee Shop and Bar on all items over £2. You also receive 10% discount on hotel room bookings.
11. Waterside PLUS Membership
As a member, you have the option to add a bolt-on called the PLUS membership at a cost of £15 per month. This will give you exclusive benefits, including an exclusive black wrist band, 25% discount in the club lounge, 15% discount at Food Sorcery. A complimentary water bottle or shaker, free event room hire, two extra guest passes every month, a free towel each visit and access to the Normatec Compression Legs.
Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire
Please answer all questions, if you answer YES to any of the questions below, please consult your doctor.
Has your doctor ever told you that you have a heart condition OR high blood pressure?
Do you feel pain in your chest at rest, during your daily activities OR when you do physical activity?
Do you lose balance because of dizziness OR have you lost consciousness in the last 12 months? Please answer NO if your dizziness was associated with hyperventilation (including during vigorous exercise).
Have you ever been diagnosed with another chronic medical condition (other than heart disease or high blood pressure)?
Are you currently taking prescribed medications for a chronic medical condition?
Do you currently have (or have had within the past 12 months) a bone, joint, or soft tissue (muscle, ligament, or tendon) problem that could be made worse by becoming more physically active? Please answer NO if you had a problem in the past, but it does not limit your current ability to be physically active.
Has your doctor ever told you that you should only take part in medically-supervised physical activity?
